Otto Von Pup

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
My name is Otto and I live in the magical kingdom of Fife in Scottyland with my Boss and Humum.

How many humans/siblings do you have and long have you had them?
I have lived with my Boss and Humum since I was young.

Do you work? If so where/what do you do?
My main occupation is being a walking companion to the Boss, he needs at least two walks a day. We usually patrol the coastal borders of the kingdom, sometimes checking out the forests near the coast too. Around the humans' big kennel, I am mostly in charge of security and Humum encourages me to stalk and kill those dangerous creatures, the House Spider. I capture them then allow Humum to despatch them with the Baffie (Scottish slipper). She's very happy when I point them out for her.

If you could choose your name what would it be?
My Humans chose my name, Otto, but I extended it fully to Otto Von Pup, as I feel it is more appropriate for me, having come from a long illustrious line of Hungarian hunters.

What is your favourite food?
My favourite food in the world is tatties (Scottish potatoes), preferably dug out of the field by my own fair paws. But I'm not fussy, I'll eat them mashed, baked or fried.

Where is your favourite place to be?
My favourite place to be is on holibobs, I just love a migration, soooo exciting when the Humans get the car packed up! I love exploring new hunting grounds all over Scottyland. We have camped under canvas, in posh camping pods, and stayed in b&bs and a hotel once. I'm happy anywhere because I have my own tiny pop up kennel tent, so it feels like home.

What is your favourite way to entertain yourself (annoy your humans)?
My favourite way to entertain myself is by finding a ball when out walking. I just love balls, I once found 12 on a walk along the golf course at St.Andrews! The Boss's pockets were bulging!

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment has been overcoming my excitable Hungarian nature (I was nearly expelled from puppy class!) and becoming a well-balanced well-trained ambassador for canine-kind.

What is your next goal in life?
My next goal in life is to encourage the Humans to bring a puppy into the big kennel, so that I can help my apprentice pup become a well balanced and happy dog.

If you could be/do anything for a day, what would it be?
If I could choose to do one thing for a day, I would love to party with my furpals and human family - us vizslas love a good party!

Finally and most importantly...What was your human’s most embarrassing moment?
The most embarrassing incident happened when I was just a few months old, and Humum decided to give me a carrot to clean my teeth. She gave me one every day (the teeth were lovely and clean) until one day I was walking along the pavement and suddenly squatted...and produced a stream of frothy orange diahorrea. It was too much to even try to pick up, so Humum tried to cover the steaming mess with a tissue! She still blushes at the memory, and we can't tell you where it happened, it's too embarrassing.
