Repawter: Skye

Golspie is a picturesque Highland village on the north east coast of Scotland, about an hour’s drive north of Inverness and is on the NC500.
Whilst Golspie has very few dog friendly places, one shop where dogs are pawmitted is my aunty‘s shop, the Golspie Stone Shop.

About the Shop
The shop sells a pawsome range of rocks, minerals, crystals, and fossils. There’s also jewellery, clocks, books, maps and you can even buy dinosaur poo. Yikes, I hope we don’t bump into any dinosaurs on our travels. But hey I’m a fearsome lass, they wouldn’t want to mess with me. BOL!

For those looking for the pawfect gift the shop has something for everyone, including us doggies.

Crystal Healing for Dogs
Unsurprisingly, mum (who’s very much into aromatherapy and is furever making up potions) is becoming interested in crystals and to learn of their healing properties. Crystal healing has been around for thousands of years to help combat or treat all sorts of conditions and emotions by absorbing negative energy.

You may or may not know but crystals can also be used on us doggies. For example, rose quartz is used to alleviate anxiety or stress. Just ask your human to place a rose quartz crystal near you, say under your bed or in your crate and you should, paws crossed, become more relaxed.

Other crystals suitable for dogs, amesthyst, for example, can help with skin conditions and arthritis. Flourite, aka the IQ stone helps with focus and concentration and no you don’t brush your teeth with it. BOL!

But why would I, a highly intelligent Springer Spanner need an IQ stone in the first place you may indeed ask? And why on earth would I need help with focus and concentration when I could happily play with my ball all day long and given half the chance I could eat all day too. I’d say without a doubt that that’s 100 pawcent dedication. Don’t think that one has been well thought out. BOL!

Dog Friendly
Bowls of water are available, if not just ask. And if you’re lucky you might get a treat or two, we did. Pawsome!

Parking
There is some parking allowed on the main street but there is a free car park opposite the shop.

Warning/Impawtent Information
Athough crystal healing is an alternative therapy, always seek advice from your vet for any illness/condition.
Not all crystals are suitable for dogs as some may be toxic so always check beforehand.
