Are we a nation of tea drinkers?

As we know our humans are very fond of tea as there are over 100 million cups of tea consumed in the UK every day !!
So does that mean we are also tea drinkers? I held a small study on social media to find out.

As we know tea milk or sugar is not necessarily the best thing for us, but even that does not deter the most determined amongst us. Some pals not even waiting for our humans to finish with their tea before we help them drink it. BOL!

So should we be drinking tea?
It is the caffeine in tea that is bad for us.
All standard teas originate from the Camellia Sinensis plant, which does contain caffeine. The different flavours/colours are all modified and hybrids from the Camelia Sinensis plant.

Herbal teas are infusions that (mostly) don't contain caffeine. Some still add some 'standard' tea to make the infusion taste.
Looking at the caffeine free herbal teas, they are made from peppermint and other leafy things. The 'other' things may have beneficial effects for dogs, or no effect at all.

Some of the results from my research:
Do dogs drink tea?
Out of all the Pals that replied, only 3 do not drink tea.
Several feel it is their duty to empty their human’s cup, even if they are still drinking it.
Some have their very own cup to drink from or have their tea poured into a bowl.

What type of tea do dogs drink?
Without mentioning brands, it appears dog tea type is very dependent on what our humans drink, although there are a few of us that have speciality teas bought for us.
Regular tea with caffeine, decaffeinated, Earl Grey, Breakfast, chamomile are amongst the tea types we drink.

Do we have milk and sugar in our tea?
Although we should not have either, there are a few of us that do. Although some humans change to honey, soya milk, skimmed milk, semi skimmed milk.

Teabags of loose leaf teas?
A few never mentioned either way, but it is clear that humans do seem to be changing from the convenience of teabags towards loose leaf teas. So I think the human’s choice clearly dictates what we get to drink.

Other things I discovered during my research.
We have at least one tea drinking ferret in the world.
The well known malted milky drink is consumed by dogs too.

Research Result:
It appears that we do enjoy a drink if tea.

Thank you to all Pals who replied and helped me get information for this article.
