A Lifetime's Work Achieved
In December 2024, Green Cat Books owner, Lisa Greener, was hired by a social media whizz to publish his book, and the experience turned out to be like nothing she had ever known.
Mark Bradshaw had worked with a writing coach in a small group writing class for a while, to help him realise his dream of becoming a published author. As the trusted publisher of his coach, Georgia Varjas, his work was sent over to Green Cat Books and the process began. Everything went according to schedule and the first edit of Mark’s poetry and two short stories was sent to him to peruse over the Christmas break.
However, in early January Lisa still hadn’t heard from Mark to confirm or amend the edit. It was soon revealed that Mark had become ill over Christmas and was in hospital. Concerned, Lisa continued to liaise with Georgia, and produced a small sample of book covers for Mark to choose from. Work continued on the interior between the two experts, along with Mark’s friends until the final draft was completed.
Unfortunately, Mark passed away before he could see the final version. Pleased with the final results of the completed book, his friends decided to complete the project, adding their own dedication to him.
My Night’s Reality is a captivating collection of 45 poems and two short stories, blending the boundaries between fact and fiction. Through his poetry, he explores a wide range of themes—from intense reflections on crime and personal expression to the profound journeys of transformation.
In the two short stories, It was a Formidable Task and I Will Die in Paris, Mark demonstrates his gift for weaving truth and fiction into compelling narratives that grip the reader from the first word. With his sharp insight and evocative language, Mark takes you on a journey that is as thought-provoking as it is immersive
Published by Green Cat Books, Mark’s book is set be published on 3rd March 2025, and will be available to order from www.greencatbooks.com along with all good retailers, including Foyles.co.uk, Waterstones online and Amazon for £7.99
