Alan Titchmarsh has been named as an ambassador

for the Historic and Botanic Garden Training Programme (HBGTP) by English Heritage.

This program offers paid traineeships for aspiring horticulturists and those interested in gardening.

This provides an opportunity for individuals to start a career in horticulture. Whether they are young and just out of school or looking for a career change later in life.

Trainees will work for a year alongside professional garden teams at various historic and botanic gardens across the country, such as Osborne, Walmer Castle in Kent, Cambo, and Aldourie Castle in Scotland.

This experience will help them develop a well-rounded skill set and gain practical knowledge to kick start their horticultural career.

Recently seventeen trainees at fourteen different gardens, including those managed by English Heritage, are beginning the program.

Alan Titchmarsh MBE expressed his pride in being the ambassador for the HBGTP, emphasizing the importance of preserving and passing on the valuable gardening skills in the country.
