Self Care Isn't Selfish

A new wellbeing journal created by award winning coach and artist Amanda Mckinlay. The journal offers meaningful self-care support for the chronic illness community.
When living with chronic illness, even the smallest acts of self-care can take courage. That’s what inspired wellbeing and creativity coach Amanda McKinlay to create her new journal,

Self Care Isn’t Selfish
– A Gentle Journal to Help You Savour Your Spoons

Designed with compassion and lived experience, this beautifully guided journal offers gentle prompts, reflection spaces, and moments of mindfulness tailored to the needs of those managing chronic illness, neurodivergence, or simply seeking a kinder, more sustainable approach to wellbeing.

The journal invites readers to explore self-compassion, creativity, and everyday acts of nourishment — a reminder that self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate to be effective.

Self Care Isn’t Selfish is available now through The Butterfly Room at What If Paisley Ltd and online at lulu.com, with plans to expand availability in the coming months.

About Amanda:
As someone who has lived with fibromyalgia for many years, I know that self-care isn’t about bubble baths or perfection, although I do like a nice soak, it’s about listening to your body and honouring your energy. I wanted to create something that helps people feel seen, supported, and inspired to care for themselves without guilt.
