Hey my intrepid pals,
it's been a stormy few weeks in Brighton with several back to back named storms.... so we thought it was a good time to head off on an Isle of Wight holiday. Well, why wouldn't you choose one of the windiest places in the UK when Storm Eunice was predicted?! Honestly my humans really are unfathomable some times.

Luckily our ferry was booked for a quiet day and the sun was shining. Even more lucky was the fact that the campsite was protected from the south westerly winds, something Elaine claimed to have known. The next day we battened down whilst the wind blew ferociously around the island, hitting a record breaking 122mph at The Needles. To be honest it was relatively calm where we were in the dip but it was amazing to watch the sea and trees swirl. Two years ago, we'd got caught in Storm Derek and that was scary, Eunice was much less dramatic for us. I hope all of my friends survived ok; we were constantly checking twitter!

So, it was also my 12th gotcha day, time goes so fast when you're having a super fun time. Legend has it that I was born in rescue in Ireland and a kind lady drove myself and 9 other dogs to the RSPCA in Brighton as they had room for us. The wonderful lady drove for ten hours and I have 12 years of happiness to thank her for. Elaine said that the holibobs was my present but I also received some tasty dog treats and soft toys from friends.... and thanks to the editor Tigger, I have some lavender dog spray. Elaine is very pleased with this but I'm not so sure, I prefer eau de fox poo. Bol.

Anyway, stay safe you lot and keep out of any strong winds! Doz x
