Hello, my name's John I am 42 and a self employed dog training Instructor. My trade name is Poise Dog Training.
I previously worked as a self employed dog walker for ten years under the trade name J.M.G dog walking service. Previous to that I worked as a dog runner for high energy dogs.

I have a 9 year old Welsh collie named Holly.

I support the Painted Dog conservation.

I am based in Liverpool but if you live outside of that area, please get in touch as I may still be able to help.

Tell me about your Business.
Poise Dog Training is a one to one dog training service. Lessons usually take place in the clients home or in a near by park or field.

How old is your business?
I set up Poise Dog Training five years ago, a few months before the COVID lockdowns.

What would you say the best part of owning your business? The best part of owning Poise Dog Training is being self employed and having the ability to pick and choose the clients I believe will work with me to get the best results for their dogs, and not just expect me to sprinkle magic fairy dust over their dog or flick a switch and suddenly they have the most well trained and best behaved dog in the country.

What would you say is the highlight of your work so far?
It's always good walking a reactive dog past another dog or person for the first time without any barking or lunging. That's always a highlight.
