The Capers of Cilla....
Hola amigos, soy Cilla la galga de Malaga!! Fortunately, as I am Spanish, I can speak un poco English too. Muy bien. I'm 4 months old and was dumped in a locked cage with my brother alongside another cage of pups. No food or water and in the heat, que horror. Luckily some nice peeps at Galgos en Familia found us and gave us food and safety. My nose is a bit damaged from ramming the cage door but otherwise I am super fit.
It just so happened that Elaine, who was grieving for Doris the lurcher, sent an email to several rescue centres in the UK. One was Project Galgo UK who knew all about me and my hermano. Elaine said it was meant to be, she had a heart that needed mending and wanted a new young rescue dog. Although she loves older dogs, she knew she needed a young one to train to travel from the Isle of Wight. Muy, muy bien.
I had all my vaccinations, caused havoc at foster carers, travelled hours in a horsebox and eventually arrived in somewhere called Dover. It was a lot more frio than Malaga I can tell you! It's also very noisy compared to the finca I was living in and there is a lot of traffic, even in Cowes, like a whole car every half an hour. Can you imagine?! A whole car, and maybe a person! Elaine says I have to get used to it and is giving me lots of short walks and treats.
Right I'm off for a siesta,
adios for now my new amigos.
