The Capers of Cilla
- January 2026
Hola my friends.
Last month I ran a lot, por que I hear you ask? Well in October I was spayed to stop me having any little Cillas with the local entire labradors, of which there are many! This is a good thing as firstly, I would be a useless parent, and secondly unwanted litters are not good (says Elaine, personally I think that Otto and I would have made fabby pups that we could have played with all day, muy bien Otto y Cilla)
So I was spayed and quite the big scar it was too. I'm absolutely fine and tiptop now but for a few weeks I had to wear a protective tee-shirt and stay on the lead for very small walks. I was not feliz I can tell you! So in November I ran and ran and ran to make up for it! Elaine took me to the enclosed meadow in Gurnard and to several beaches. The favourite of mine, and many dogs on the island, is Yaverland. It a very safe sandy beach flanked by cliffs so us doggos can't run off (unless we head backwards to the car) We often go when it's low tide and poor weather so you only get other dog walkers there, a staffy pup, many spaniels and a whippet to play with this time. Right off to nibble my paws and plan my next beach antics.
Adios Cills x
Good capers: low tide, whippets who also don't listen to commands, chewing my dew claws.
Bad capers: vets, spaying, protective tee-shirts and cones of shame.
