Crumpet

Tell me a little bit about yourself
I am a cute little girl with a big badonkadonk according to Mummy (rude). I have an undershot jaw, so my teefs stick out, which Mummy says makes me even cuter. I am a bouncy girl who gets very excited when walks are mentioned, or the car keys are picked up (I like going for adventures in the car). I also like sneaking up behind my humans and putting my nose where it shouldn’t go (according to them).

How many siblings do you have and long have you had them?
I came into the family on January 18th, 2020, so I have had my humans, and big brother Dash, for 2 years!

Do you work? If so where/what do you do?
I used to run around like big brother Dash did, too. Now I work at HoundieHood Watch, where I sit on the chair in the lounge room and look down the driveway and keep a houndie eye on the goings on!

If you could choose your name what would it be?
My name was originally Chloe (I ran around after a fake bunny too – my racing name was Chloe’s Crumpet). When I was at the adoption place there were three other black and white houndies and they were all called Chloe too, so I was called Crumpet instead. I like being called Crumpet; I think it suits me. Mummy sometimes calls me Crumpetycrump, which I am unsure about, or puppy. I approve of that one.

What is your favourite food?
Mummy is vegan so I only get that when the other human is home.

Where is your favourite place to be?
I like to lie on the human bed underneath the air conditioner. Both bedrooms have air conditioners, as does the lounge room, so my need are always being met. Quite right, too.

What is your favourite way to entertain yourself (annoy your humans)?
I am particularly good at running full pelt up to my humans and not quite stopping in time (Mummy has nose shaped bruises). I enjoy playing with my Cuddlepillar at three in the morning. I also like to lick my paws. The glop, glop noise seems to annoy them – I don’t know why. I always wait until they have called my name at least three times before I acknowledge them, though.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Adopting my humans. They saw me, took me out in a paddock to play with Dash and see how we got along, and didn’t even look at another houndie!

What is your next goal in life?
I want my humans to take me to the beach again. I discovered it the day we went to Williamstown (see Dash’s answer about embarrassing the humans).
It was fun to paddle in the water, but it didn’t taste nice. I had a little paddle and tried the water again. It hadn’t got any tastier. Mummy said I was a genius!

If you could be/do anything for a day, what would it be?
I agree with Dash – I don’t want to be anyone else but me! The staff look after our every need.

Finally and most importantly...What was your human’s most embarrassing moment?
Mummy is embarrassing a lot, without any help from us! She was embarrassed by me, though, when Dash and I were the stars of a photo shoot! Mummy had won a competition and part of the prize was a professional photo shoot by a Pet Photographer. That’s a person who takes pictures of pets, not a pet who can take photographs – although that would be pretty cool! Anyway, I was on a landing near a lake, posing for my pictures, and somehow got tangled in my lead and almost let out a GSOD. It was quite traumatic, and I am sure it was not my fault for going the wrong way. The photographer – Simon, who said I was a Good Girl and Dashie was a Good Boy – took a photo of Mummy and me at that moment. You can see from the picture that it is clearly Mummy’s fault.
