Luna
Tell me a bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Luna! I’m a 3-year-old Shih-Poo, which means I’m very cute, very fluffy and obviously the most important member of the household. I enjoy walks, snacks, sleeping, following my mum absolutely everywhere and making sure she never gets to go to the toilet alone.
Do you work? If so where/what do you do?
I’m currently a full-time professional companion and part-time security guard. My main duties include supervising Mum, barking at suspicious noises, checking every bag that comes through the front door and making sure the sofa is adequately tested every day.
What is your favourite type of music?
Anything that stops Mum from singing. She thinks she’s good. She isn’t. I prefer the sound of a treat packet opening.
If you could choose your name what would it be?
Princess Luna. Obviously. Although Mum already treats me like royalty so I suppose my name is pretty accurate.
What is your favourite food?
Whatever Mum is eating. I don’t understand why she thinks her food is hers. I also enjoy treats, anything that falls on the floor and food I’ve specifically been told I’m not allowed to have.
Have you taught your human any tricks?
YES. I have trained Mum exceptionally well. I only have to stare at her for long enough and she gives me treats. I also taught her that when I stand by the door, she must take me outside immediately. When I stand by my food bowl, she must feed me. When I stare at her while she’s eating, she must share. She’s a very well-trained human.
What is your favourite way to entertain yourself (annoy your human)?
Following Mum from room to room. Sitting directly where she needs to walk. Barking at absolutely nothing.
Stealing socks. Asking to go outside and then immediately changing my mind. And, most importantly, waking Mum up because apparently 4:30am is a perfectly reasonable time to start the day.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Surviving 3 years of being this adorable without becoming completely spoilt. Although, actually, I think my greatest accomplishment is convincing Mum that I’m starving approximately 14 times a day when I was fed less than an hour ago.
What is your next goal in life?
To receive more treats, go on more walks, sleep in every available spot in the house and convince Mum that I definitely need another dog. Or another snack. I’m flexible.
If you could be/do anything for a day, what would it be?
I would love to be a human for one day so I could finally understand why Mum leaves the house without me. Then I’d probably spend the whole day eating, napping and going for walks. So basically… exactly what I already do.
Finally and most importantly... What was your human’s most embarrassing moment?
Ohhhh, I have SO many options. But I think it was when Mum thought nobody was watching her doing one of her little dance routines at home… except I was watching. And judging.
She also embarrasses herself regularly by talking to me like I’m a person. Which I am, obviously. I just happen to have four legs and no bills.
