About:
Stretching 73 miles from coast to coast, Hadrian’s Wall was built to guard the wild north-west frontier of the Roman Empire. Today you can explore the Wall’s rich history and its dramatic landscape at over twenty English Heritage sites.
Discover the remains of the forts, towers, turrets and towns that once kept watch over the Wall. See rare Roman artefacts, get hands-on in museums and take in spectacular views of the rugged landscape to find out what life was like for the men, women and children on the edge of Roman Britain.
Hadrian’s Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are several sites and forts to see along the wall.

Parking:
There is parking along the 73 miles of the wall.
Some parking is free and some is chargable. It is always better to plan and check before visiting, where possible.
There are areas where livestock are used to keep the grass maintained, so keep dogs on lead.

Facilities:
There are facilities at some of the forts, sites and parking areas along the remains of the wall.

Notes:
Hadrian's Wall spans 73 miles from cumbria, through Northumberland, to Newcastle upon Tyne.
A lot of the wall is ruins and beneath grass, which is uneven and sometimes challenging to travel along if mobility impaired.
