About:
The town of Dunster retains many fine historic buildings and monuments. They include the medieval Butter Cross, which probably once stood at the south end of the market in the high street, where it was called the market cross or the high cross. Today it has been removed to a bank beside the Alcombe road, but it still has an important story to tell about the town.

Dogs:
Dogs on leads are welcome.

Parking:
Charged parking is available within the village (car park postcode TA24 6SE), not managed by English Heritage.

Facilities:
None on site but, but plenty of eating, shopping and toilet facilities in the village

Notes:
The Butter Cross is a short walk from the village. Turn right up St George's street after the church and follow the lane for approximately a quarter of a mile. The Butter Cross can be viewed from the road.
