Lucy and Nelson - On the Move
August 2024

Hola Amigos/woof hello Buddies. We are Lucy and Nelson from #ERSRemovals back again and checking in with all our Furry Amigos.

What have we been up to since last time you ask?
Well all sorts we have seen a snake while out the other night walking. It was about 4 foot long.

One of our doggie buddies saw a baby wild boar!

This week we are discussing Dog related Moving tips.

As you know little Hoomans get confused and sometimes upset by moving, but you can explain it to them what is going on.
However us woofers don’t understand what is going on.

Moving to us pets can be scary and confusing because what we see, is you doing these strange things like packing boxes, moving stuff and altering and disrupting what we know,

So how can our humans reduce the stress for us furry amigios ?

Never let the us see you pack our toys. So leave packing our toys until the last day before the move. They also need to leave one or two of your toys out. We suggest a chew toy so we have something to chew on if getting frustrated or something.

2 Make sure we have a quite place we can retreat to, and if possible have us put out of the way on the moving day as that can be scary for us, and scared woofers can be a danger to themselves.

3. Remember to us scent is important so if your woofer is travelling to the new place apart for you (eg with a pet transporter). Make sure we have something that smells of you. Like a piece of clothing they have worn or a towel the have used.

4. As we said we don’t understand whats going on. So remain calm around us and maybe give us extra attention (not saying that to just get extra tummy rubs but because we doggos might need the extra attention for reassurance).

Woof makes sense right Ashley?

So while we could go on, the main take way we want to get across is that any move can be confusing scary and stressful for pets. We don’t understand and you can’t really explain it to us either.

So try to keep everything around us as calm as possible and as familiar as possible and don’t forget to keep out some favourite toys and some treats.
