Soil type: Likes moist but well drained soil that is very fertile.
Position: Warm, sunny position

Sow: Under cover between March and May, outdoors between May and June after the frosts have passed.
Harvest: June until the Autumn frosts.

About:
Courgette are a member of the marrow family.
If left to grow for too long it will grow into a marrow.
They originated in Italy and were exported to to the to the Northern and Central Americas, where they were imported to the UK.
Although eaten as a vegetable it is actually classified as a fruit as it grows from a flower. Courgettes grow in a variety of green and yellow shades and colours. They can be long or round.

Dogs:
Dogs can eat courgette raw or cooked in meals or given as a snack.
As with all vegetables, they should be given in moderation to animals.

Cats:
It would not harm a cat if they occasionally ate a small amount of courgette however they should be cut into smaller pieces or mashed to avoid a choking hazard. Cats will still not thank you for being fed vegetables.

Rabbits:
Rabbits can eat raw courgette.
Around 85% of a rabbit’s daily diet should consist of hay, 10% leafy greens and vegetables and 5 % pellets or nuggets.
