I was recently on my hodidays to the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides and it was there that we paid our first visit to the dog friendly Macroon’s tea room inside the Post Office in Castlebay. It is a fairly small tea room with only three tables but there is also a seating area outside which has pawsome views of Kisimul castle; a medieval castle which sits on a teensy-weensy island in the bay and is also known as the ‘Castle in the Sea’.
Macroon’s tea room is famed for its baking (especially the scones) but sadly for my mum none were vegan so she had to do without (me and my furbrother Sparky didn’t get any either) but she was able to get a soya milk latte. My dad also had a latte and a slice of lemon cake and he said it was delicious.
The lady who served us offered Sparky and I a couple of gravy bones which we pawlitely accepted and quickly wolfed down - yummy! She gave me and Sparky lots of attention and even better, when she came back to clear our table she gave us (not mum and dad, BOL) another gravy bone each - just pawfect.
We will definitely be taking our humans back there again, BOL!!!
