Hey pals,
Well I made it to Wales at last my friends. Our 2 week plan was to head to the south first and drive up the coast of Cardigan Bay.

Stopping off in Bitton, near Bristol, I enjoyed our first evening at the local pub with meerkats. Yep, meerkats, not your average pub pets! Cheeky little fellows there were too, popping up at the merest crinkle of a crisp packet. I was hypnotised and frankly didn't want to leave. Wales, however beckoned.

Our first foray into the south of Wales took us to a caravan friendly farmer's field in Llanelli. Sensibly we booked ahead and we were surprised, and delighted, to have the entire field and it's stunning sea view to ourselves. Queue bbq and music in the sunshine!

The Gower Peninsula along that coast has the most amazing, empty sand beaches. The countryside is also particularly pretty and green.

Driving onwards our next stop was Tenby, home of the quintessential Welsh harbour town view, you know the one. I imagine on a sunny day the pastal houses and fishing boats would be lovely but sadly we arrived in torrential rain. This not only spoilt the famous views but also left us out in the cold. Tenby is not overly dog friendly, in fact we found most places somewhat standoffish. Disappointing.

Onwards and westwards towards Haverford found us pitching overnight at a pub before visiting Carew Castle. Now this was most definitely dog friendly and was full of my counterparts sniffing medieval smells. A classic Pembrokeshire castle (of which there are many)

Loved South Wales, onto Cardigan bay next time...
