News from Dusty's Diary
December 2019

Hi Pals,
This month I have been trying to train my human to be more attentive to my needs, something I feel is important to us hounds with Christmas coming up, lots of tasty food being around and the humans being on holiday with more time to devote to our needs.

I’m going to help you with making sure you get adequate and timely walkies. Now my human is pretty good at not lazing in bed, and we were out of the door as the sun was rising as usual, but then we met someone who had already walked their pooches in the dark! She was standing and talking for ages, they were discussing something called ‘flea and tick treatments’... not something I feel I want to know about.

I tried everything I could think of to hurry her up; whining, barking, jumping, and still she ignored me. So I pulled my last trick out of the bag, and chewed through my lead in a few seconds to release myself, but she still hadn’t realised my triumph, and it was only when my silence became suspicious in itself that she realised what I had done! I gave her a big grin and ran off into the woods, and surprisingly I’ve always been released in a timely manner ever since! I do advise to only do this as a last resort, but sometimes needs must if we have tried all other lesser tactics.

Now, with the human trained on this issue, I’m plotting how to acquire the large yummy bird called a turkey that appears around this time of year, and for some reason, is guarded like Fort Knox when I’m around...

Until next time. Have a pawsome month
Dusty
