About:
My name is Rachael, and my business is Leaps and Bounds Canine Massage Therapy. I was previously a Primary school Teacher and I have a background in Sports Science and Performance. I was also lucky enough to play rugby union for England (in my younger days!).

I was drawn to canine massage therapy through my own experiences of acute injuries and chronic pain, of which massage therapy created life changing results; in addition to what my own dog has experienced. Mollie my cockapoo started ‘skipping’ on her back leg at the age of 3, and it has since been diagnosed as luxating patella syndrome. I was desperate to find a holistic therapy that could support her without the need for drugs, surgery or stressful experiences. I came across canine massage therapy and so far, she has avoided surgery. She loves her favourite walks in the woods or on the beach and leads a very happy, loved and most importantly pain free life.

I have trained for 2 years with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre completing 1200 hours of canine anatomy and physiology, handling many different breeds of dog and training in the following 4 disciplines of massage: Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue and Myofascial release (both direct and indirect). I specialise in treating soft tissue and muscular issues to support the rehabilitation of acute injuries and provide pain management for chronic orthopaedic conditions such as hip/elbow dysplasia and arthritis.

Massage therapy is suitable for dogs of all ages and activity levels, whether they are a pet, performance, show or working dog. My passion is providing the pain relief your beloved dog deserves which can be achieved in just 1-3 treatments.
