WALK FOR WAG 2026
Walk for Wag 2026 is on Saturday 12th September!

Wag and Company is a North East charity that enable volunteers and their dogs to visit older dog lovers in their own homes or in care and medical establishments across the North East of England. Every year, Wag and Company walk at Derwent Reservoir & Waterside near Consett (DH8 9TT) and it is a wonderful day out! As well as raising important funds, it's a chance for everyone to get together, older friends too.

The Walk for Wag at Derwent is an 8 kilometre sponsored walk (5 miles) along the Derwent Reservoir and Waterside near Consett (DH8 9TT). There is also a 3 kilometre (1.86 miles) walk where a shorter distance would be more appropriate. The 8 km walk takes about 1.5 hours at a moderate pace and the 3 km about half an hour. Both walks are on generally good terrain and the 3km walk is wheelchair accessible. Not every walker brings a dog but the lovely dogs that do come are in all shapes and sizes, they are well socialised, they definitely aren't in season (!) and they are always held on normal walking leads.

The parking charges, Walk for Wag t shirts, special doggie bandanas, chocolate snacks, Wag water bottles and dog treats are all provided to supporters on the day free of charge.

There is no charge to take part but we absolutely rely on your fundraising.
So in return Wag and Company ask every adult who takes part to fundraise or donate at least £50 to enable our important work.

It's a great day out with lots going on including a Super Prize Raffle, a spectacular cake stand, the Waggy Tails Fun Dog Show, a brilliant face painter, the Hexham Uketeers.
