Tigger's Tails
- September 2025

Hi Pals,
August put a bit of a dent in the treat funds as it was the month the car goes for its MOT test.

When the car was taken to the MOT centre, the staff there were really excited to see the car. As soon as they saw it, they remembered it needed new brake pipes. Apparently the rear brake pipes are a particular favourite as they have to remove the petrol tank to get at them. They greeted my human with waving and cheering. Well that is what it looked like to me BOL!

Although the treat funds have taken a bit of a hit this month, the mechanics that worked on the car and the staff at the MOT centre did a fantastic job as it only took two days to get the car back, which was fantastic as there was a list of other things that needed to be fixed too.

Even though the car was only away for two days, it is amazing how much we rely on cars without realizing it.
Hopefully that will be the car sorted for another year. Paws crossed it won’t need anything done to it next year.

Here are some MOT fun facts.

1 The most common MOT failures are due to failed light bulbs

2 MOT stands for Ministry of Transport, the department that originally administered the tests.

3. MOTs were introduced in 1960 and originally voluntary for cars over 10 years old. In February 1961 it became compulsory for vehicles over 7 years old. In April 1967 it became compulsory for vehicles over 3 years old.

4. You can book your car in for its MOT up to a month before it is due.

5. MOT garages have to purchase MOT ‘slots’ from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.

6. The DVSA sets a maximum MOT fee prices for each vehicle class to garages. Although a lot of garages charge far less in order to get customers.

Until next month
